The Finnish Climate Fund’s first sustainability report published

The Climate Fund’s first sustainability report outlines the company’s own operations and investment activities in 2021 as well as the corporate sustainability principles that guide the Climate Fund’s operations.

The Climate Fund’s mission is to promote innovative climate solutions – with the aim of reducing greenhouse gas emissions, improving the utilisation of natural resources and fostering biodiversity. The first section of the sustainability report presents the company’s funding activities, 2021 targets and dealflow, as well as provides an overview of the corporate responsibility principles in Climate Fund’s financing operations.

Corporate responsibility and sustainability issues are an integral part of the company’s day-to-day work and responsibilities of every Climate Fund employee. The report includes an overview of the Climate Fund’s governance, management of responsibility in the company’s own operations and environmental, social and economic responsibility in 2021.

Climate Fund emphasises stakeholder interaction especially in the early phase of the company’s operations to further develop the company’s impact. Despite the challenging pandemic year, stakeholder cooperation was conducted through events, surveys and direct stakeholder involvement.

“Sustainability and impact are at the core of the Climate Fund’s operations – therefore it was important for us to report on our activities as a comprehensively through economic, social and environmental responsibility. Many aspects remain to be developed in the coming years, such as the compilation of a single integrated annual report, but we hope that our stakeholders will gain a good overview of the activities of Climate Fund and the funding targets from a sustainability perspective”, Communications Director Saara Mattero says.
